Amardeep Secondary School,Mukandpur, located in the rural interior of district Shahid Bhagat Singh Nagar (Nawanshahr) was established in 2004 under aegis of Amardeep Sjngh Shergill Memorial Trust- under the stewardship of S. Gurcharan Singh Shergill and Dr. S.S. Johl, renowned economist with joint support of others members of managing committee constituted for it.
Since its inception the school offers course in science, commerce and Arts. It has qualified and experienced teachers, an imposing infrastructure and well- equipped science and computer laboratories to cope with the modern educational technique and trends. As it is situated in rural area, the students of this school can avail benefits of reservation in colleges offering professional courses. In addition to this two seats are reserved in professional course like MBA (five year integrated course) for students of this institution in ASSM College. Special education is given to all round development of the students. An another glorious chapter was introduced in its history when on July 4, 2007 it was taken over by GNDU for further administration.
